We are registered with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB).
We ensure that our products are certified as per local regulations. Furthermore, all our products and equipment are Canadian Standards Association (CSA) certified.
We have a long standing Membership with the Canadian Elevator Construction Association (CECA).
Company History
Bramalea Elevator Ltd. was established by Jim Ninness in 1989 as a manufacturer of high quality, value priced material lifts (previously called freight platform lifts) for commercial and industrial applications.
In the mid 1970’s, Mr. Ninness participated in drafting changes to the B44 Elevator Safety Code. These changes allowed for freight platform lifts to provide an economical alternative to freight elevators without compromising safety.
As Engineering Manager at that time for Blue Giant Equipment, he oversaw the design and implementation of the first freight platform lifts in Canada.
Having brought this experience with him to Bramalea Elevator Ltd., and with the help of a dedicated and experienced staff, the company has become the premier manufacturer of quality freight platform lifts in Canada.
Our product lineup has expanded to include freight elevators, automobile elevators, dumbwaiters and custom vertical platform lifts (commonly known as handicapped lift). We are also proud to provide our elevator products with freestanding support structures/ enclosures for turnkey applications.
Our design office and manufacturing facility is located in Brampton, Ontario. Service and installations for the Greater Toronto Area are handled directly from this location.
